The Wall
THE WALL
Twas the night before nothing
and all through my heart
every moment was stirring
both here and apart.
The warmth of your presence
was clinging inside
but the cold of your shoulder
was hurting the pride.
But all of the sudden
I felt something above
the coldness was jerked
all I felt was your love.
I heard someone laugh
which forced me awake
the thin shell of hatred
was starting to break.
I built up a wall
to save me from you
when I was hurting
it's all I could do.
The wall is now falling
but why, I don't know
the hatred inside
was just starting to show.
Something stepped in
and knocked down my wall
my thin shell of hatred
now nothing at all.
