Family and friends

the old and new

I want you to know

I'm thankful for you.

I love you all

in a different way

all of these things

I often don't say.

I know that I

often seem cold

I've tried real hard

to break the mold.

I'm living a past

that shattered my heart

afraid to move on

cuz I might fall apart.

Each day of my life

is healing the pain

but love in my heart

is hard to regain.

Those of you (that)

were always around

I've started to put

my feet on the ground.

Please understand

I'm just not the same

I never will be

I know it's a shame.

Starting over

is hard to do

when I wanted to quit

I thought about you.

You didn't give up

and I felt it inside.

little white lies

I hate hellos

and good-byes.

I'm still trying

to find my place

the past is something

I need to erase.

I'm sorry if

I've done you wrong

I hate not knowing

where I belong.

I want happiness

that never ends

I need my family

and my friends.
