Our Year Of Memories

OUR YEAR OF MEMORIES

Oh my God

the day is here

look at us

it's been a year.

So many smiles

as may frowns

we've had our ups

we've had our downs.

All the laughter

all the tears

we know each other

and their fears.

We've grown together

as one, not two

I'd be lost

without you.

on this date

you walked in

to school late.

Whoever thought

a year from then

this same day

we'd share again.

I love you

you loved me

tied together

also free.

We've shared a life

known to few

a life I've only

shared with you.

We've shared it all

we've heard the talk

you left me once

I've tried to walk.

You came back

I let you in

I've tried to leave

I won't again.

I held you in

the opponents box

and loved you through

the chicken pox.

Spent months together

every day

or how it seemed

anyway.

The love we had

confused us too

we didn't tell

but others knew.

Parents that

never cared

but tried to end

the love we shared.

The tried so hard

to tear apart

the love we had

in our hearts.

We listened and

we let go

it didn't last

we both know.

Behind their back

we grew some more

a better friendship

than before.

So many hugs

and unshed tears

so many feelings

and also fears.

I cried enough

for both of us

you're not the one

to make a fuss.

You've been a friend

a friend indeed

the only friend

I'll always need.

You've stood by me

and dried my eyes

you were honest

no need for lies.

It's not over

not this year

and every fourth

you'll still be here.
